PUC Services Inc. operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply and delivery of electricity and drinking water, and energy services and the treatment of water and wastewater.
PUC offers a dynamic, challenging and rewarding work environment that encourages collaboration and innovative thinking. We are seeking a new member to join our Facilities Department. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong communication with an innate desire to learn and grow.
As the Maintenance Person, Facilities your duties will include:
• Provide important services throughout the corporation including minor maintenance services, delivery services, washing of vehicles and general support in other departments throughout the organization.
• Perform preventative maintenance and regular inspections.
• Conduct security lock ups of buildings, gates, and equipment;
• Communicate and interact with the public, contractors, suppliers, staff and students.
Qualifications:
• At a minimum, a Grade Twelve Diploma with experience in maintenance and repair of buildings and properties.
• Skills such as carpentry and plumbing are an asset.
• Hold and maintain a valid Ontario “DZ” driver’s license.
• Ability to safely operate a full range of hand and power tools.
• Strong communication skills.
• Exercise judgment in adjusting operational processes.
• Ability to read and understand prints, plans and specifications.
• Ability to operate computerized systems; and
• Ability to work as part of a team and to take initiative.
