If you are seeking a dynamic and challenging role in supporting the development of children and youth with a variety of physical, developmental and communicative challenges, THRIVE has a position for you. We are looking for a full-time Communicative Disorders Assistant/Therapy Assistant to support infants and their families. The Communicative Disorders Assistant/Therapy Assistant will assist the supervising therapist in carrying out evaluation and intervention activities; preparing written and oral progress reports for client file and supervising therapist and assist the supervising therapist with clinics.
This position will be based out of THRIVE's Wawa office.

What we need from you:

Post-graduate diploma in Communicative Disorders Assistant from accredited college
Minimum 2 years of experience working with infants and children and their families with established development and/or physical disabilities
Experience providing virtual therapy and working with children with ASD would be an asset
A passion for supporting and working with a team and are committed to a collaborative, attuned, strengths-based approach to problem solving.
Self-motivated and able to work independently, balanced with a commitment to a collaborative team approach.
Are sensitive to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual and positional differences among staff, providers and children/families served.
Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset
Current First Aid and C.P.R. Certification is required
Satisfactory criminal background check and vulnerable sector screen (CPIC) is required
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required
A valid Class G driver’s license and personal transportation are required.
Willing to work flexible hours and to travel across the District of Algoma is required.
The ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
