Reporting to the Manager, Innovation and Technology, the Business Intelligence Specialist will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to help the organization make informed decisions, improving business processes.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for gathering data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and external sources.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and monitor both new and existing key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with organizational goals.
• Respond to inquiries and requests for information from staff in a timely manner.
• Work closely with leadership teams to create data strategies that support data modeling.
• Analyze software products and technologies and make recommendations to influence technical direction.
• Build reporting and analytics to support business processes.
• Apply statistical techniques and analytical methods to interpret data.
• Identify trends, patterns, and correlations that provide insights into business performance.
• Create visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) to effectively communicate findings.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, data science, economics.
• Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in data analytics.
• Skills in manipulating and analyzing large datasets using Python, SQL.
• Understanding of database systems and query languages.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets independently.
• Experience building self service dashboards in Power BI or other BI tools.
• Experience in building queries, automating reporting and building analytics.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Ability to think critically and solve complex problems using data-driven approaches.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
