Over its 70 year history, Community Living Algoma has provided a wide range of supports and services to individuals and their families living in the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District. Our primary focus is to assist people to achieve their personal goals and ensure organizational outcomes are achieved.

As a Services Manager, you will lead by facilitating the effective delivery of services for the people you are supporting, provide guidance and coaching to your team of Direct Support Professionals, ensure Ministry of Children Community and Social Services (MCCSS) standards are upheld and maintained, and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team of professionals. This position requires that the successful candidate demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and appreciation for person-centered planning and approaches. The ideal candidate will possess strong networking and community development skills, be a strong advocate for the rights of all people and have a vested interest in the advancement of the community as a whole.


Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day operational management of assigned areas/locations; providing leadership, coaching, constructive feedback, direction and support to their team of Direct Support Professionals.
Provide on-site leadership and support to engage with, and guide staff and the people you are supporting to participate in activities that are meaningful to them, ensuring health outcomes are met, and ensuring MCCSS standards are upheld and maintained
Maintains and adheres compliance to all relevant legislation, organizational policies and procedures, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ministry of Children Community and Social Services legislation, and Collective Agreement.
Plan for adequate and effective staffing for assigned areas and locations while working collaboratively with Workforce Planning.
Drive high standards of performance for teams and accountable for achieving goals and objectives measured through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Provide training, and orientation, and demonstrate the ability to appropriately apply the Coaching and Progressive Discipline processes, provide feedback on performance and address performance concerns in a timely manner.
Responsible for the development and implementation of an annual budget, reviewing monthly budget reports to address deficits as they arise and ensure operational costs are within the fiscal budget.
Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate documentation, daily reports, data, time sheets, payroll records, and attendance records.


Qualifications
Have a university degree in a relevant Human Services degree and/or Community College Diploma with relevant experience.
Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a direct support human service role.
Excellent communication skills: ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
Have the ability to work in an automated environment (i.e., Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Participate in the agency’s on-call system.
Have a valid driver’s license, use of personal vehicle.
Ability to speak, read and write both in English and French would be an asset.
Other combinations of education, training and experience which provide the knowledge and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
