We are looking for an Office & Facilities Administrative Assistant for a full-time 22-month contract to provide administrative support and facilities coordination. The role works 37.5 hours a week Monday thru Friday, and is based out of our Johnson Ave location but will also work out of our Queen St location.

What will you do?

- Provide a variety of administrative support to the client and family-facing staff managed under our 4 amazing Professional Services Managers (PSM)
- Provide direct administrative and operational support to the fantastic Administrative team.
- Provide building maintenance coordination for our 6 different locations throughout the Algoma District and Sault Ste. Marie
- Support management with sourcing, and contracting of materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
- Ensure outstanding service by creating a welcoming environment for clients and their families, visitors and staff.
- Act as the secretary for the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) to ensure THRIVE is providing a safe working environment for all THRIVE staff, volunteers, and visitors to all THRIVE locations.
- Support the Client Support Coordinator in scheduling client appointments
- Acts as back-up Receptionist or Executive Assistant when needed, including but not limited to greeting and welcoming clients and families, visitors and tradespeople to the Centre, screening incoming calls, and taking messages.

What we require from you:

- College diploma in business or office administration is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required (graduating students are welcome to apply!)
- Between 6 months and 1 year experience providing administrative assistant support in a fast-paced office setting is preferred
- Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates
- Previous experience in healthcare setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills including verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
- A team player with a willingness to learn new skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to respond to building and equipment emergencies.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, balanced with a passion for supporting and working within a team and are committed to a collaborative, attuned, strengths-based approach to problem solving and capacity building.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word
- Satisfactory criminal background check (CPIC)
- First Aid and C.P.R. Certification is an asset
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle as travel may be required within Sault Ste Marie, and the Algoma district
- Willing to work flexible hours and to travel across the district to other sites
