WINNIPEG, MB – The Thunder Bay Wolves Basketball Club sent five teams to compete in the University of Manitoba Jr. Bisons Tournament in Winnipeg this past weekend, gaining valuable experience and bringing home strong results across multiple divisions.
The U12 Wolves celebrated a milestone, securing their first-ever tournament win while finishing with a 1-4 record. Despite facing tough competition, the young squad showed resilience and improvement throughout the weekend.
The U13 team took on the challenge of playing up an age group, facing older and more experienced opponents. Although they finished winless at 0-3, the team gained invaluable experience that will serve them well in future competitions.
The U14 Wolves had an impressive showing, securing four wins. However, they struggled against a tough Misfits squad, falling to them twice and finishing the tournament in second place with a 4-2 record.
The U15 team rebounded from an opening loss to claim victory in their final two games, earning them the Consolation Finals title with a 2-1 record.
Meanwhile, the U16 Wolves dominated their division, going undefeated at 3-0 to capture first place in their bracket.
A great showing by our Thunder Bay athletes, teams will be travelling again to the Manitoba Championships and the Ontario Cup later this spring.
