THUNDER BAY — The People’s Party of Canada has its candidate to run in the Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding.

Sabina Ree will carry the party’s banner in the south side Thunder Bay area riding. Ree’s career, according to her biography on the party’s Thunder Bay Electoral District Association’s website, has taken her through jobs as a lab technician, medical assistant, personal support worker, English as a second language teacher and breastfeeding mentor.

Ree has served on the board of the Oliver Agricultural Society and as a volunteer firefighter, according to her candidate biography.

Supporting and promoting what she calls “real conservative values,” the electoral district association’s website said she’s prioritizing lower taxes, less government and protecting Canadian “traditions and values,” with a focus on the economy, immigration, healthcare and self defence.

Her candidate biography adds that she doesn’t subscribe to “the ‘woke’ agenda among other illogical agendas being promoted by others.”

“Growing up on a family farm in the Thunder Bay area, I learned the importance of hard work, faith, family and community from a young age,” her biography says.

So far, Ree will be running against Liberal incumbent Marcus Powlowski, Conservative Brendan Hyatt and Yuk-Sem Won for the NDP.
