My Holiday Hero is Ana Lucia, a 12 year old girl who thinks it doesn't matter how old you are, you can always make a difference. She is the owner and operator of "The Cherry Side".
She makes cards and gift tags, mainly in Christmas Season and St. Valentine's and donates money back to a charity of her choice.
Three years ago, after she lost her grandad because of Cancer, she decided to make cards and donate money back to the Canadian Cancer Society.
She named her business "The Cherry Side" because her grandad was always very serious but she knew he loved her. She thought, "everybody has a sweet side even in the most hidden place of their heart...let's make cards!!! and make everybody share their sweet side".
There is a particular thing in all her designs. They all have a bow because, according to her, it is symbol of connecting two loose ends...
This is her third Christmas working on her project and even though she cannot donate big quantities, she does it with a big heart.
She has donated to the Canadian Cancer Society, Taylorpedia and its anti-bullying project, Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Society and lately she donated her hair and money to Angel Hair...
This year donations are going to RFDA and she is beyond happy to spread the Christmas Spirit. Look into her facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thecherryside/
