The Industry Social House had its grand opening on June 30 and they’ve hit the ground running. Locals have been raving about their offerings of cocktails, mocktails, local craft brews, wines and mouth-watering menu items.
Operations Manager Kevin is thrilled with the fantastic staff and customer response.
“We got really busy really quick.” he laughs when reminiscing about their soft open in June. “We’ve got great staff here, I’ve been in and out of the industry for the past 18 years and I’ve never had staff that I can trust this much.”
The long history in event planning, customer service and bar management has led to his position at The Industry.
The renovations began in February, “Watching this be built from a giant empty room to a downtown New York kind of bar.” Their drink menu has been carefully curated by their head bartender. “Spirit-forward drinks, not just sugary martinis or cocktails that appear on every bar menu. There’s been some amazing ones that he’s come up with.”
Customers have been intrigued and pleasantly surprised by unique flavours like the “Dillight” with fresh dill muddled into it along with Empress Gin, Limoncello, lemon, lime and simple syrup. “One person posted about it and now everyone wants it.”
Exclusive drinks pair perfectly with Industry’s sharable appetizers and mains.
“Our chicken is really good, people have been eating the wings, chicken sandwiches those seem to be the fan favourites. But’s it’s a very cocktail forward kind of bar.”
The talented and innovative staff are constantly composing new daily specials and experimenting with unconventional ingredients.
“Creative minds in the kitchen and behind the bar that are trying different things, yesterday we bought some lamb and said let’s see what we can make with this, let’s see what jumps out at you.”
The Industry’s focus on creativity and fun is materialized in the menu and decor of the space. They've been collaborating with other local businesses like George’s Market for their meat, providing the pub with Wagyu for their specialty burger as well as chicken and bison. George’s has been proactively providing their best cuts for The Industry’s menu. Historic Agostino’s Deli has been helping to develop their pizzas and pastas and sauces. Roma bakery is providing fresh baked buns and bread and East Coast Lobster is providing seafood.
The Industry has a large, chic space and they are poised for hosting special events, already booking weddings for autumn.
“The wedding industry needs another venue. They all book up quickly. I thought, you know what, we can do this, let’s make this work.”
