THUNDER BAY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district climbed has climbed slightly after the confirmation of 22 new positive test results over the weekend.
It brought the case count to 63, six more than on Friday.
One more person has been admitted to hospital, where three residents are now receiving treatment for COVID-19.
Sixteen previous cases were resolved over the weekend.
TBDHU said all but four of the new cases involve residents of Thunder Bay or the immediate surrounding area.
The other cases are in district communities.
Ten of the new cases resulted from close contact, while five infections occurred among people who had travelled outside Northwestern Ontario.
Across Ontario, 3,784 new COVID-19 cases were reported Monday morning, down from the 4,177 that were reported on Sunday.
