Someone in Thunder Bay could be $1 million richer.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation on Saturday announced a winning Max Millions ticket Friday's Lotto Max draw was sold in the district.
The $60-million top prize was sold in Quebec.

Toronto, ON – Several Ontario residents are waking up millionaires in the first week of the New Year! While the $60 million LOTTO MAX jackpot winning ticket from the Friday, January 6, 2017 draw was sold in Quebec, there are still plenty of winners in Ontario.
A secondary LOTTO MAX prize winning ticket worth $1,506,363.60 was sold in Toronto.
Fourteen MAXMILLIONS prize winning tickets were also sold in the province. Nine $1 million winning tickets were sold in the following communities:
- Mississauga
- Pickering
- Oshawa
- Ottawa
- Newmarket area
- Owen Sound area
- Peterborough area
- Richmond Hill area
- Thunder Bay area
An additional five MAXMILLIONS tickets worth $500,000 were sold in the following communities:
- Georgetown
- Mississauga
- Kitchener area
- Barrie
- Brockville
Plus, one ENCORE winning ticket worth $1 million was sold in Whitby and another ENCORE winning ticket worth $100,000 was sold in Mississauga.
Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won over $3 billion in prizing, including 48 jackpot wins and 362 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province.
For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes.
Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers or buy online at PlayOLG.ca until 10:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, January 13, 2017 for the draw that evening.
