THUNDER BAY — City police have taken close to $80,000 in drugs off city streets in a recent arrest.

On Wednesday, members of Thunder Bay Police's intelligence unit brought a search warrant to a home on Archibald Street.

Officers collected what is believed to be cocaine with an estimated street value of close to $80,000 plus other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and cash estimated to be over $5,000.

Police initiated their investigation in April, which resulted in four people being arrested during the search warrant.

A 24-year-old Toronto resident, along with a 16-year-old from Whitby, are facing various drug trafficking charges.

Two Thunder Bay residents, aged 54 and 50, are also charged with trafficking and possession of stolen property offences.

All accused appeared in court on Thursday and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
