A COVID-19 outbreak at Southbridge Pinewood is over

Outbreaks continue in 14 other high-risk settings in the district.

THUNDER BAY — An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Southbridge Pinewood long-term care home is over.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit made the announcement Monday.

The outbreak was declared in the Sandpiper unit of the 128-bed nursing home on Jan. 4, 2022.

There are still 14 active outbreaks in high-risk settings in TBDHU's service area.

These include Pioneer Ridge, Hogarth Riverview Manor, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, the Thunder Bay District Jail, and the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.
