Confederation College to Take Community Partners on a Culinary Trip Around the World with Partners’ Evening
Remarkable Alumni to be Honoured at the Event with President’s Awards
THUNDER BAY, ON, September 13, 2016 – Confederation College’s Culinary Management students are excited to give the Thunder Bay community an opportunity to travel around the world in just one night with delectable international cuisine offered through the College’s 21st Annual Community Partners’ Evening presented by Tbaytel.
The event takes place on Thursday, September 22 in Confederation’s Ryan Hall. A premier networking opportunity, the event will feature gourmet food stations prepared by students and special guest Chef Stephen Khor, with all proceeds supporting student awards.
Chef Khor, known for his international palate and award-winning talent, is being brought in courtesy of Sodexo.
Beyond attending and cooking at the event, his visit will also provide the unique opportunity for the Culinary Management students to benefit from his global knowledge through hands-on training the day before the event.
“Sharing and learning is always a two-way process,” said Chef Khor.
“I’m looking forward to sharing the knowledge I have gained through my career and learning about the College, the students and the culinary program. I’ll be exposing the students to multiple international cuisines by teaching them about different spices, flavours and cooking methods. There are many rich cultural cuisines growing in popularity in Canada and we should choose to embrace them.”

“Each of these individuals has proven that they are leaders in their respective fields through their exemplary accomplishments. Confederation College is happy to have played a role in their success.”
In addition to receiving the President’s Award, each of the three alumni have been nominated for the 2016 Premier’s Awards, which recognize the tremendous contributions Ontario’s college graduates make to the success of the province and beyond.
The Premier’s Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, November 21 in Toronto.
