THUNDER BAY — City police have confiscated a small baseball bat and brass knuckles during a service call.

On Saturday night around 10:30 p.m., city police responded to a call regarding an alleged assault.

Police stated that a witness reported seeing a male suspect use a weapon to assault another male.

Responding officers located a male who matched the suspect's description.

The 34-year-old man is alleged to have been in possession of the baseball bat and brass knuckles.

The man was charged accordingly and was remanded into custody for a future court date.

It is Newswatch policy not to name suspects whose case we do not expect to follow through to its conclusion in court.
