THUNDER BAY — A 13th person has been charged in a large cyber crime bust in Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay police announced on Friday that Jordan Maurice, 31, has been charged with distributing intimate images without consent.

Maurice is the latest to be charged in relation to the 18-month investigation by the police’s cyber crimes unit that have already seen police charge a dozen men with 172 similar offences.

Police have said the case includes victims under the age of 18 — some as young as 12 years old.

Thunder Bay police said in a media release on Friday that Maurice was arrested on Thursday in Midland, Ont., with the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police.

The accused appeared in court by video, police said.

Thunder Bay police are still seeking information from the public — people are being asked to contact Det.-Const. Joel Manherz at 807-684-1200, extension 4115 or submit tips through Crime Stoppers.

No charges have been tested in court.
