It doesn’t appear job action by Air Canada pilots has led to any missed flights or delays in or out of Thunder Bay on Friday morning.
The company has issued a warning to travelers, after some pilots decided to stage an illegal walkout in protest of a contract dispute, weeks after the government issued legislation taking away their right to strike.
The airline told The Globe and Mail the wildcat strike has forced them to cancel about 30 flights into and out of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Three weeks ago ground workers staged a similar walkout that cost Air Canada passengers more than 200 flights missed, including several affecting Thunder Bay travelers.
The Thunder Bay International Airport Authority website shows the only scheduled morning Air Canada flight being eight minutes early. All departures are on time, as of 9:45 a.m.
