THUNDER BAY — A truck driver from the Calgary area has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash at Sistonen's Corner on Sunday.
Ontario Provincial Police said the deceased was a 47-year-old resident of Strathmore, Alberta.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was operating a tractor-trailer involved in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 11/17 just east of the Highway 102 intersection at about 7:30 pm.
Police closed Highway 11/17 for an extended period between Sistonen's Corner and Kakabeka Falls.
OPP continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
