A 42-year-old from Neebing faces charges after allegedly trying to drive across the border while intoxicated.

Provincial police said officers were called on Sunday by Canada Border Services Agency officers about a possible impaired driver trying to cross into Canada from the United States.

Responding police officers investigated and determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The driver faces two impaired driving charges, was issued a 90-day licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment, and is due to appear in court in November.
