THUNDER BAY – A rally was held on Thursday in front of city hall against the vaccine passport mandate recently put in place by the Ontario government.
“It’s just trying to get people, remind them what our rights and freedoms are, that they’re actually in legislation, and we’re being told through mandates that they no longer apply,” Alan Aubut, former candidate for the Peoples Party of Canada,
“Like our Prime Minister, just this morning I saw, he’s deciding what freedoms we actually get, he’s deciding. Since when is this a dictatorship, this is supposed to be a democratic country where we have parliament, parliament discusses issues, and parliament passes laws, and like, the masks that you are wearing, what law demands that you wear those?”
The rally, organized by Sabrina Ree, took place at 11 a.m. in front of Thunder Bay City Hall, and featured guest speakers Matt Robinson and Alan Aubut who asserted that the new mandate is breaking laws, taking away our freedoms, and taking advantage of the community.
“There’s the other crazy thing with all these mandates, there are no laws behind any of them, and businesses are being told, ‘ If you want to stay in business, you have to be the police for us, we’re telling you what to do even though there are no laws to support what we’re telling you’ and that’s not right,” Aubut said,
“We’re supposed to be in a free country, and this is not free, and that’s the thing.”
Event organizers would like to stress that the rally was not anti-vaccine, just anti-vaccine passport.
