Changes to parking rates and hours of enforcement started June 1.

THUNDER BAY – If you’re planning to drive to the city’s drop-in session on Wednesday, July 3, you may want to park in the Prince Arthur Hotel’s lot so you won’t have to feed the meter.

The session is being held at the Prince Arthur in hopes that many people will walk from their homes, said a communications officer with the city.

Anyone who parks on the street will need to pay, but the hotel’s parking lot is free.

Municipal Parking Services wants to hear from people who live in the downtown cores to learn more about their experiences with parking at meters.

Changes to parking rates and hours of enforcement started June 1.

Municipal Parking Services wants to learn how this change is affecting people who live in the downtown Fort William area, Waterfront District, or Bay and Algoma areas.

“We want to know about any impacts these changes are having on people who live in the areas with metered parking,” said Jonathan Paske, Supervisor – Municipal Parking Services.

“We have heard from businesses in these neighbourhoods, but we also want to hear from the people who live in these areas too.”

The drop-in session will be held on Wednesday, July 3 from 4 until 6 p.m. in the Bertrand Room at the Prince Arthur Hotel, 17 Cumberland St. N.
