THUNDER BAY — One person has been charged with arson after a south-side residential fire.
Emergency response teams were called to the city's south side earlier this week for a blaze at an abandoned address on Bethune Street.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue advised city police the incident was a suspected arson.
Officers investigated and located a suspect who was spotted leaving the scene around the time the fire was discovered.
A 30-year-old Thunder Bay resident was charged with arson, breaking and entering, as well as having break-in instruments and breaching recognizance.
The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and was remanded into custody with a future court date.
