THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay man is facing a charge of attempted murder after an alleged stabbing incident at a north side hotel earlier this month.

The accused, 37-year-old Nicholas Morris of Thunder Bay, was originally charged with aggravated assault after police were called to the Dawson Road hotel on Aug. 5.

In a release sent to media on Wednesday, Thunder Bay police said the accused also faces two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, failing to comply with a release order, robbery with a weapon and obstructing a police officer.

Morris remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

The accused and the victim, who sustained serious injuries in the alleged attack, requiring hospital treatment at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, were known to each other.
