Two drivers were taken to the hospital and traffic along a busy city thoroughfare was slowed after a Tuesday morning crash on Balmoral Street.
The crash took place at about 11 a.m. near Forest Street when a small car crashed into the rear of a van. The front of the car sustained significant damage.
Both airbags were deployed as a result of the crash and the drivers were taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for an assessment. The injuries are believed to be minor and non-life threatening.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers and Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue firefighters were directing traffic along the busy stretch of Balmoral.
The van was able to be driven off the road, but a tow truck was needed to move the car.
The investigation is ongoing.
