THUNDER BAY — A fire on Banning Street is under investigation by the city's fire department.
On Thursday, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews responded to the blaze on Banning Street near John Street and Oliver Road around 11:20 p.m.
A spokesperson for TBFR said multiple people live in the residence but only one occupant was on scene at the time of the fire and was able to escape safely.
However, one pet perished in the fire.
The home has been boarded up while the fire remains under investigation.
