THUNDER BAY — Bay Meats is on the move.
The business, a staple of the Bay Street economy, has changed ownership, purchased Cav-Tal Foods Ltd and plan to combine both businesses with a brand new storefront at 701 Norah Cres.
"Due to expanding operations, we will be closing our Bay Street storefront location, allowing us to increase production within the building," reads a note posted to the Bay Meats Facebook Page.
Longtime customers may have a new store to explore, but ownership said they will still be able to get all of their favourite products at the new site.
"You will still be able to purchase all of Bay Meats products, along with the variety of products Cav-Tal has provided for many years. While we are in the process of making these changes we will be having a clearance sale of 25 per cent off everything in store at our Bay Street location, from Dec. 30, 2024 until our last day open on Jan. 17, 2025.
The owners called the change a bittersweet moment.
"We have had the pleasure of serving all of our customers on Bay Street over the years, but we look forward to this new chapter and continuing to serve you at the new location."
Bay Meats products will still be available at retail locations throughout Thunder Bay and surrounding area, and the online store will continue.
