THUNDER BAY – Although the owners of Man vs. Meats were planning to close on Saturday, on Thursday the restaurant announced on its Facebook page that they ran out of food and have opted to close early.

“Thank you for your patronage over the years. It's been a pleasure serving Thunder Bay for the past years . . . We have run out of food and will be closed.

“Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.”

Approximately six days ago, Man vs. Meats, which was on Leland Avenue, announced it would close – although the restaurant didn’t provide a reason.

If it was still open, the restaurant would have celebrated 10 years on July 21.

“A big THANK YOU to all the staff who are currently employed and those who (have) come and gone. You helped us to create the best sandwiches/poutine this city has tasted.

"We could not have done this without you! Thank you again!” the initial post said.
