THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay’s bike lanes are scheduled to begin reopening this weekend.
Bike lanes officially begin opening on May 1, as each zone’s street sweeping concludes, and remain open until Nov. 15, weather permitting.
That means restrictions to on-street parking in designated bike lanes will now be enforced.
The city urges motorists to check signage for parking restrictions, and to generally be aware of cyclists, respect bike lanes, and share the road.
Residents can find more information on the city's active transportation network, including a map of bike lanes and other multi-use trails, at the city's website..
