WINDSOR, Ont. – Nathan Bilamu fired up a pair of late four-quarter threes to help the Lakehead Thunderwolves stave off a hard-charging Windsor Lancers squad and remain perfect through five games.

Bilamu finished the game with 18 points to lead LU to the win, in a game that saw the Thunderwolves trailing 15-12 after the opening quarter and then go on to win 77-76,

Harold Santacruz had a huge night for Lakehead, scoring 15 points while hauling in 16 rebounds.

Windsor’s Yohann Sam led all players with 27 points, but couldn’t find the net when he needed it most, missing a game-tying three-pointer just before the buzzer. Ty Greaves-Saadaty followed with the rebound an the put-back, but it left the Lancers one point short of forcing overtime.

Lakehead (5-0) will head to London, Ont. on Saturday for a game against the Mustangs.

Lakehead remains in top spot in the OUA club.
