THUNDER BAY -- The victim of the Chapples Park murder has been identified.
Thunder Bay Police Service officials on Friday confirmed that the body of William Darryl Wapoose, 32, of Thunder Bay, was found on Sept. 3 off the bike path in Chapples Park.
The identification of the victim follows a post-mortem examination, which was conducted Thursday in Thunder Bay. Investigators have not released the cause of death.
While the crime scene at Chapples Park has been released, police are still turning to the public for help in finding out more about the incident that led to Wapoose’s death.

Police say a passerby found the man’s body Wednesday morning. Police ruled the death as suspicious when they arrived on scene, confirming that the case was a homicide later that same day.
