THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police are conducting a sudden death investigation on the south side of the city.
Just after noon on Wednesday, police and paramedics were dispatched to an area near the 100 block of Darrel Avenue, following reports of a body possibly being spotted in the Mission River.
When officers arrived they located the body of a deceased adult male.
Members of multiple TBPS units including Major Crimes and Forensic Identification are currently investigating.
The area – which is close to the Resolute Forest Products sawmill – has been cordoned off, and a police presence will be maintained at the site.
Police say there is no known ongoing threat to public safety connected to this investigation.
