NEW YORK -- Thunder Bay defenceman Robert Bortuzzo is on his way to Long Island.

The New York Islanders on Friday announced they have acquired the 13-year NHL veteran from the St. Louis Blues in return for a seventh-round pick in the 2024 draft.

Bortuzzo has played just four games this season, and has been held off the scoresheet.

In 537 career games, the 34-year-old has 20 goals and 74 assists, to go with 491 penalty minutes.

He won a Stanley Cup championship with the Blues in 2019, and was originally a third-round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2007.
