THUNDER BAY — Canada Post has suspended mail delivery in the Thunder Bay area, due to poor travel conditions.
The corporation made the announcement early Wednesday afternoon after the city received 34 to 50 centimetres of dense snow.
Canada Post said it had issued a Red Delivery Service alert.
That means delivery is suspended for the day, and delivery agents will neither be sent out nor recalled.
It said delivery will resume once conditions improve and it is safe to do so.
Canada Post also said it encourages customers to clear the ice and snow from their walkways, stairs and driveways to ensure safe access for mail carriers once service resumes.
