A young man charged last year with first-degree murder will stand trial.
Adam Capay, 21, attended his preliminary hearing this week at the Ontario Court of Justice. The hearing saw around eight witnesses testify, and wrapped up Wednesday.
Capay is charged in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Sherman Quisses, during an altercation at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre in June of last year.
Quisses died after a sharp object punctured an artery in his neck. All evidence at the preliminary hearing is subject to a publication ban.
The judge presiding over the hearing has ruled that there is enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial.
There's no estimate on when Capay's murder trial might be held. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for Sept. 30.
