TORONTO — Thunder Bay's Carter George has been named the Ontario Hockey League's goaltender of the week.

The Owen Sound Attack netminder made his OHL debut last Thursday, his team trailing 5-1 midway through the second period. He proceeded to stop all 14 shots and all eight in the shootout as the Attack rebounded to win 6-5. George returned to the crease on Sunday and picked up another win and first-star honours as Owen Sound downed Kingston 4-1.

For the week, George was 2-0-0 with a 0.63 goals against average and a .976 save percentage.

The 16-year-old, who started the season with St. Mary's Lincolns of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, was taken 53rd overall by the Attack in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection Draft from the Thunder Bay Kings U16 program.
