THUNDER BAY -- Transition to Growth, that’s the name of the Community Economic Development Commission's new three year strategic plan.

It's designed to help grow and expand the city through new and existing businesses.

The plan, covering 2014 to 2017, focuses on seven key themes:  Entrepreneurship, business expansion and succession, innovative manufacturing, training and education, logistics and supply hubs, social enterprise, and the mining readiness strategy.

Commission CEO Doug Murray says this carefully constructed plan will guide Thunder Bay through the economic changes to grow and prepare for any economic fluctuations in the near future.

Murray went on to say this doesn't mean new companies will flourish by tomorrow, but these are all steps in the direction of growth.
