THUNDER BAY — Century brand light tuna with flakes in hot and spicy sauce has issued recall warnings across Canada, including Ontario.

This recall follows the products containing wheat without declaring it on the label.

As of Saturday, no reactions were reported to be associated with tuna consumption.

However, the Public Health Agency of Canada warns the public not to serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled tuna.

It also noted that the public should return the recalled products to where they were purchased or thrown out for safety.

Those allergic or sensitive and having celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders are urged not to consume the recalled products, as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.

This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results and a food safety investigation is being conducted.

This investigation may lead to the recall of other products.

Residents seeking more information on the recalled products are encouraged to consult the Canadian Food Inspection Agency recall notice on the Government of Canada Recalls and Safety Alerts website.

The public health notice will be updated as the investigation evolves.
