THUNDER BAY — A man faces multiple criminal charges in connection with a weapons incident in Thunder Bay on Friday.

Numerous Thunder Bay Police units were dispatched to the area of Andras Court, a housing complex on Cumberland Street South, following reports that a firearm had been discharged.

TBPS announced Monday that a 38-year-old man has been charged with careless use of a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and several other offences including failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused appeared in court over the weekend, and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
