MINNEAPOLIS – Gearing up for the playoffs, the Thunder Bay Chill gave the day off to most of their starters as they wrapped up the regular season on Friday against Minneapolis City FC.

Minneapolis took advantage of the situation, jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime and held on to down the Chill 2-1.

Thunder Bay had already clinched top spot in the Deep North Division and was prepping for what they hope is a lengthy post-season run.

Mizael Harris got the ball rolling for Minneapolis City in the 10th minute, bouncing a low shot past Chill keeper Francisco Leuzzi.

Sidike Jabateh doubled the Minneapolis lead at the 45-minute mark.

Thunder Bay’s Loris Tsiatsipy finally got the Chill on the board in the 85th, but despite nearly six minutes of added time, they couldn’t find the equalizer.

The Chill will enter the playoffs as the top seed out of the Deep North Division. The team has applied to host the first round of the USL 2 playoffs, but the decision has not yet been announced.
