THUNDER BAY — There is still time to register for a Christmas Cheer hamper.
Any families in need of a helping hand this holiday season can still register for a Christmas hamper. The hampers come with a week’s worth of groceries and a turkey for Christmas dinner, as well as gifts for children donated through the Thunder Bay Professional Firefighters Association’s Toys for Tots campaign.
All families with children are eligible.
To register call 807-622-2286 before 4 p.m. Friday or between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
Once registered, the Cheer hampers can be picked up at the Coliseum on the CLE Grounds on Dec. 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
South-side residents are asked to come on Dec. 18 and north-side residents can get their hampers on Dec. 19.
In 2023, 8,000 hampers were given out to Thunder Bay families and the Christmas Cheer campaign raised more than $300,000.
The money raised is used to purchase the food for the hampers.
