HALIBURTON, Ont. – Thunder Bay goaltender Christian Cicigoi was named the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s third star of the month for December.

A sixth-round pick in 2017 by the Ontario Hockey League’s North Bay Battalion, the 20-year-old posted a sparkling 1.67 goals against average and a .950 save percentage playing for the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Haliburton County Huskies last month.

At present he leads the idle OJHL in wins with 16 and is eighth overall in both goals against average (2.36) and save percentage (.924).

Steinback Pistons goaltender Will Hambley nabbed the No. 1 star of the month, while winger Maxime Gagne of the College Francais de Longueil took the second star, scoring 13 goals and adding seven assists in six games.

Cicigoi is a graduate of the Thunder Bay Kings program.

Kam River Fighting Walleye netminder Austin Madge earned an honourable mention.
