THUNDER BAY -- Officials with the City of Thunder Bay say a construction project will block traffic at a major intersection in Northwood starting on Wednesday.

The Edward Street/Redwood Avenue intersection will be closed to north-south through traffic for about one-and-a-half weeks to allow for storm sewer construction.

The city says only the south-to-west and east-to-south intersection ramps will stay open, but access will be maintained to the Northwood Mall area.

Detours will be posted at the approaches to the intersection.
