THUNDER BAY – City crews are out in force clearing the five to 10 centimetres of snow that fell on the city – with more expected in the forecast.

Road plowing staff hit the streets at 6 a.m. prioritizing arterial, collector and transit routes. Keeping those roads open remains the focus, with residential street plowing to begin once the snow stops and the priority routes are completed.

Sidewalk and trail clearing also began at 6 a.m., again focusing on priority routes, with residential neighbourhoods to follow.

City crews started sanding and salting streets on Saturday night, and continued the work throughout the night.
