THUNDER BAY – The end of the Canada Post strike means the return of water-bill delivery by mail.

The City of Thunder Bay on Friday announced it would start sending out bills delayed by the strike for residents in Section 1, which includes Red River, Current River, Woodcrest and Grandview, as well as remote and country areas like Rosslyn and Riverdale.

The deadline to pay the bills, which display a Dec. 13 due date, has been extended one month, to Jan. 13, 2025.

Those residents on pre-authorized plans will have their payments taken out on Jan. 13, with a letter coming advising of future payments.

Residents in Sections 2 and 3, including Forest Park, Central, Northwood, Simpson, the East End, 25th Side Road and Westfort, were not impacted by the strike.
