THUNDER BAY — A winter's worth of accumulated litter will be collected from the streets and sidewalks of the city's south core later this week.
The Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council is co-ordinating a neighbourhood clean-up that will take place on Thursday.
It will start at 5 p.m. outside city hall.
Co-ordinator Lee-Anne Chevrette says that besides sprucing up the downtown area, the project will also connect people with others in the neighbourhood.
"A cleaner environment leads to a safer one, which also helps to instill a sense of community and civic pride," the Crime Prevention Council states in a news release.
Clean-up materials will be supplied to participants.
Refreshments will be provided when the project is completed.
