THUNDER BAY — Tony Colistro will have a second act as the head coach of the Thunder Bay Chill.

The Chill on Thursday evening announced that Colistro, their longtime bench boss between 2000 and 2014, will take on the role again for the upcoming USL League Two campaign.

Colistro, the club's president, takes over for the departed Giovanni Petraglia after it was announced last month that he would not return.

"Our goals are similar, to bring in quality players to get us back to playoffs," Colistro said in a statement.

Colistro had led the team to a league title in 2008, as well as returns to the final in 2010 and 2013 where they fell short.

Petraglia took the reins in 2015, guiding the club to the 2017 championship game where they fell short.

The new coaching staff will also include Sean Pierce, a newcomer to the organization who has previously served as a USL League Two head coach with Brazos Valley Cavalry FC in Texas. Pierce is also an assistant coach with Longwood University in Virginia.

Fracesco Leuzzi will return for a second season as goalkeeper coach, the team added.
