UPDATED: Collision knocks out power in East End

Over 1,700 Synergy North customers were affected.

THUNDER BAY — Hundreds of Synergy North customers were dealing with a power outage Monday morning as the result of a motor vehicle collision in the East End.

The utility reported that 1,746 customers in that area and along Simpson Street were taken offline at 9:32 a.m.

The traffic accident occurred on Atlantic Avenue near Island Drive.

Power was restored for all but a handful of clients by 10:40 a.m.

Thunder Bay Police as yet have released no information pertaining to the collision.
