THUNDER BAY — A city resident has lost her driving privileges and the use of her car after her vehicle left the road Sunday night.
OPP were called at 10 p.m. to investigate a collision that saw a vehicle land in the ditch on the off-ramp from the the Thunder Bay Expressway to Balsam Street.
After determining the driver had been consuming alcohol, an officer administered a roadside breath test which the driver failed.
Additional testing was conducted at the OPP detachment.
As a result, a 40-year-old Thunder Bay woman was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
Her driver's licence was suspended, and her vehicle was impounded.
The woman has a court date next month to answer to the charges.
It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
