Collision that caused 'life-altering' injuries leads to charges

Thunder Bay Police have charged the driver of a passenger vehicle that collided with a motorcycle in early July.

THUNDER BAY — A motorist involved in a collision that left two people with very serious injuries has been charged by Thunder Bay Police.

The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on July 3 at the intersection of Arthur Street and Mountdale Avenue.

Emergency responders found that a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle had collided, and that the male operator of the motorcycle and a female passenger had suffered what police have described as life-altering injuries.

On Monday, the Thunder Bay Police Service announced it had charged the 22-year-old male driver of the passenger vehicle with two counts of careless driving causing bodily harm.

The man is also charged with being a G1 licence holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
