NIPIGON, Ont. – Dangerous weather conditions led to an hours-long closure of a section of Highway 11 north of Nipigon on Sunday.
The highway reopened just before 2 p.m. Sunday, according to Ontario 511, after icy road conditions saw it closed in both directions between Nipigon and Geraldton for most of the morning.
The highway's westbound lane was also closed between Geraldton and Longlac later in the morning.
A jacknifed transport truck was reported early Sunday at Winterburn Lane West, about 30 kilometres north of Nipigon.
